“INTO THE ETHER”
The Way Out
2021 came
in with a bang filled with highs and lows, accomplishments, and failures. That
touched our lives in many ways to the point that we seemed to have little
control a few times. Like we had gone into the ether, never to be seen or heard
from again.
Such a bleak outlook. Right? Well, it doesn’t have to
be that way. There is daylight at the end of the tunnel.
Allow me to guide you through a trial that plagues us
all—the lack of motivation that leaves us feeling as though we’ve traveled into
the dark zone.
It’s an area where nothing exists except hopelessness
and all that goes along with it.
Although some of us might be comfortable right where
we are in the thick of the discontent that has become our lives, nothing good
will come of it anyway, or at least how we feel at times.
But that’s the wrong attitude. We shouldn’t allow our
loss of hope and unfulfilled dreams never to outweigh our determination.
Trust me; there is a way out of the melancholy that
has settled in like fog over a bay. If you’re lost deep in nothingness where little
ever seems to go right, hang on; there is a remedy.
Today, I’d like to share six ways to revive your
motivation and life.
1. There
is always a reason why we feel the way we do. The cure is to find the root cause
and deal with it. Perhaps you’ve had a few setbacks along the way, but don’t
let it become a diversion from your goals.
2. No
matter what the most experienced psychoanalyst says, it’s alright to feel
unmotivated. The very idea that we’re not supposed to feel this way is idiocy.
We’re human, therefore susceptible to mood swings and everything else that
comes with life. But please, do not become lackadaisical in your routines, or
else it will rule your life. And no manner of life-support will revive you.
Instead, do things that
inspire you, even if it’s the simplest of ideas. Sometimes inspiration presents
itself in ways we never thought possible.
3. Goal
setting is ideal. Start small and work your way up to the biggest one on the
list.
4. Hang
out with positive people. There is nothing worse than someone who can never
shine a positive light on anything. They see rain even when there’s not a cloud
in the sky. Positivity begets positivity. Remember that.
5. Don’t
overcomplicate your life. It’s human nature to take on multiple tasks at a
time. Multitasking isn’t a one size fit all type of deal. Even God created the
world and everything on it in steps; we should adopt this model and take things
one day or one project at a time.
6. The
best way to see where you’re going is to look back at how far you’ve come.
Progress is an instant motivator. It’s okay to focus on your journey. It’s a
realistic view of what’s to come.
Simply because your month, day, or year hasn’t been
perfect doesn’t equate to forfeiting your goals. Instead, find another source
of motivation and stick with that.
