"TELL ME A STORY"
The
Art of Creativity
When we think of a story, it usually involves
characters, plots, and a narrative. But not all stories are created this way. Some
can and are developed differently than the norm. It depends on the author.
Creativity flows through the veins of artistic people; therefore, what they create is primarily based on their gifts.
Allow me to break this down for you.
There are eight main types of art forms:
Painting, Sculpture, Literature, Architecture, Cinema,
Music, Design, and Theater.
Based on which category the author falls under depicts
which art they will create.
No matter the title, they all uniquely tell stories
based on the presentation.
Writers create characters who speak through a written
narrative, dimensional characters, and plots. Through this sequence of events,
we can follow the story without pictures based on the skillfulness of the
writer’s bold imagery and storytelling ability.
The same is true for other art forms.
Although the written word can have multiple narratives,
the others are more specific to only one storyline.
The impressionist style of Claude Monet defines a detailed
story. No written details exist to tell us the story of his creation, but his
brushstrokes and imagery speak a thousand words.
Dancers, specifically ballet, tell a story through the
movements of their bodies. It falls under the heading of Theater. Again no
words are written or spoken but tell a story through expression, action, and
the dancers’ emotions.
Music is one of the most soothing and creative forms
of expression. It has the power to involve you deeply, emotionally, and
spiritually. The composition of melodies and instruments combined with rhythm
and song can tell stories words can’t express.
Some hold music as the highest form of art based on its
poignancy and effectiveness of emotional expression.
Designers can also tell stories using the visual
effects of colors, textures, and techniques. A well-designed room can move some
to tears. Designers are in a class of their own but possess elements of a few art
forms. The detail of a talented designer tells a fascinating story through fabrics,
patterns, and accessories.
Through the art of creativity, artists can tell a
story without words or imagery. The goal is to be unique in whatever you do.
You are the narrator of your story. Be bold, honest, and creative.
