"BETTER THAN GOOD!"

                                                       Bringing Your A Game

The country is literally at the edge of their seats right now with the NBA championship in full play.  We all have our favorite teams but only one can and will walk away with the victory.

It doesn’t have to be this way in the equally competitive world of writing and selling books.  Not at all, when everyone can be victorious.  However, you must place your best foot forward if you want to be a contender.

This means to be the best you must bring the best.  I’m not saying good isn’t a comparable fete, nonetheless, it might land you somewhere on the chart. If you’re striving for number one, then you have to step up the pace.

Being better than good isn’t simply a witty slogan but wise words that come with a solid foundation of truths. It’s no wonder the best two teams in the NBA are going head to head trying to get and bring home the trophy of excellence.

They didn’t get there with an attitude of so what, if we win we win or go home with a loss. No, they played hard, studied their weaknesses and gave their all to what they believe in.

You can achieve this goal as well by having a positive attitude, a long-range outlook of where you want to take your career and putting in the time necessary to complete the task.

You get out what you put in, if you invest a little the return will be the same. Therefore, you must bring everything you have to the publishing game and not settle for anything less when navigating your career.

Honestly, who wants to be runner up in any competition when you can have first place. How you envision your life carries over into your career. I understand not everyone is an over achiever, but if you want to be better than just good, you must kick things up a notch.

Almost does not count, I don’t care how much you hear it. And I can’t say enough, anything worth having is worth working hard for.
The world wasn’t created in a day, which tells me there was a creative strategy in place and each day something new was added to the plan. This is how you should build your career. You won’t reach perfection in a day, but if you employ your best skills each time you prepare for your next goal. I promise it will happen.

Attitude is everything but being prepared and well equipped is even better. Mediocre players do not win championships. Remember this. They work and play hard with the mindset they are already winners.

Do you have what it takes to be the best or will you simply settle for just being good?
