"I GOT NEXT!"
Waiting on Your Moment to Shine
We
all know how hard it is to wait for anything in our microwaveable world. Still,
most of us learned at an early age even if you start early doesn’t mean you’ll
always win. We may not like that,
but in most cases, reality.
One
of my favorite quotes of scripture is from Ecclesiastes 9:11 “The race is not
to the swift nor the strong, but to those who endure until the end.” Now, I may
have paraphrased a little, but you get the message.
So,
let me explain to you why it so important to wait our turn for a moment to
shine.
Often,
we have an, I want it now, type of attitude about most things. Well, some things
don’t happen overnight, no matter what it is. Now let me be frank when I say,
who doesn’t want to be the next big thing?
If
your answer is I don’t, then you’re underselling yourself or just don’t care
about shining moments. I should clarify those shining moments isn’t always
about fame.
No,
often it’s about our ability to have that one moment when we are at our best. Essentially,
having the light shined on us for an accomplishment. When this happens, it’s
because we’ve waited for it.
We didn’t
force it but waited for it to come to us. Simply because you think you deserve notoriety
doesn’t make that claim to fame real.
Let’s
face it; most people want the opportunity to show the world that they are a contender.
That is worthy enough for that shot at the title and win.
But
it is equally essential to wait for this defining moment. Simply said, if it’s
yours to have, then you shall. Otherwise, you may need to wait a while longer.
In
the end, when you’re not focused on the next big thing to happen, is when it
usually takes place.
So be
patient and wait for your turn. You’ve expected to be next, and if you endure,
the world will notice.
